Okay... i altered the color of that field in the back to blend in with the foreground grass a bit better and tried to blend the shadows around Hiei. I also matched the field to the color of the mountains a bit near the top so it kind of just disappears into the base of the mountain range. I don't know if this was at all successful but i think it looks a little better?

Okay, i drew this over a year ago, but i have always really liked the drawing itself, and decided to color it. I spent a while on this version but i am not sure about the background. It just looks kind of disconnected still, like it doesn't all fit together. Even though i have managed to make some nice ones, i think in general, i still suck at backgrounds. I really like that dirt though.
Hiei is about to attack Kurama. Does he notice? Or is he just pretending not to? Oh well i guess nobody knows.
He looks awfully cute in that kerchief though, i think. Kurama looks a lot better in girl's clothes than i do, anyway. (Anyone who says he doesn't wear women's clothes is in a state of dilusion.)
If anyone has some ideas what would improve the background please let me know.
